If you're on TV and you happen to betray a very strong emotion, you had better be prepared to become a meme.

That was exactly what happened to Manchester City Football Club manager Pep Guardiola on Sunday night, although, in fairness, it was probably the last thing on his mind.

Here's Guardiola chastising the linesman towards the end of the key Premier League clash between his club and Liverpool F.C, which ended in Man City losing 3-1.

From the looks of it, there were precisely two decisions he wasn't happy with.

Yep, definitely two. For context, that moment in the game marked the second occasion Guardiola believed Man City should have been given a decision for a perceived handball by a Liverpool player — neither of which were given by the match officials.

And as the GIF went viral, people saw an opportunity that couldn't be resisted.

Ouch. Man City did indeed lose by two goals, and are now fourth in the league — with both Leicester and Chelsea sitting between them and the current leaders.

On the plus side, at least Guardiola can now say he's entered the reaction meme hall of fame.

As a final bonus, here's Guardiola shaking the hands of the refereeing staff after that game, in a way that doesn't exactly convey the sense of camaraderie the gesture is intended for.
