History is replete with instances where such commitments have amounted to mere lip service, leaving athletes like Nadeem bereft of requisite support.

As we laud the accomplishments of athletes, such as Nadeem, let us acknowledge the imperative for systemic reforms within Pakistan’s sporting realm. Prioritising investment in top-tier equipment and facilities is not merely a matter of equity but also pivotal in nurturing and showcasing Pakistan’s prodigious athletic talent. In the lead-up to the Paris Olympics and beyond, concerted efforts to revitalise the sporting industry in Pakistan are indispensable. We can honour our athletes by fostering an environment conducive to athletic achievement.
