Remember when U.S. President Donald Trump called for a boycott of Apple products after the company refused to help the FBI gain access to San Bernardino shooter Syed Farook's iPhone?

"What I think you ought to do is boycott Apple until such time as they give that security number," Trump said at the time.

Well, Apple never did comply with the FBI's request, but it appears that all that's in the past now, as Trump is now using an iPhone.

According to Dan Scavino, Jr., Director of Social Media and Senior Advisor to the President, Trump has been using his new iPhone "for the past couple of weeks" on Twitter.

This is not the President's first time on the iPhone, though. Shortly after his call for boycott in Feb. 2016, Trump said he is using both an iPhone and a Samsung phone, but vowed to stop using the iPhone until Apple complies with FBI's request.

This change of heart is hardly uncharacteristic for President Trump; after all, he once promised to stop tweeting altogether after he is elected President.

However, if Trump had really fully switched from his old Android to the iPhone (there's some indication that he didn't), it's good news from a security standpoint. Trump was reportedly reluctant, at one point, to give up his old, insecure Android phone and replace it with a more secure device, a practice that experts said was very risky.
